 JOHN'S ISLAND-CHARLESTON, SC - 72 UNITS, 3-STORY GARDEN APARTMENTS 

  Esau Jenkins Village, located on Johns Island, South Carolina, is a new affordable housing community named in honor of civil rights leader Esau Jenkins. The development will feature 72 units, including 61 one-bedroom and 11 two-bedroom apartments, designed for seniors aged 62 and older with incomes at or below 60% of the area median income. Scheduled for completion in spring 2025, the community will include two three-story residential buildings and a central amenity building with a community room, fitness center, computer station, and outdoor spaces like walking trails and gathering areas. This project honors Jenkins’ legacy, known for his pivotal work in adult education and voter registration on the Sea Islands, and represents a significant investment in providing affordable housing and supporting a thriving, active lifestyle for residents on Johns Island.
